How to thicken lines and fonts using Inkscape

One frequently asked question is, "How can I thicken lines on an existing image or a font?"  Why would anyone want to do this?  Well, if your lines are too thin there's not enough surface area of the back of the vinyl to adhere to the surface of the item you are applying it to and you may also want to make the image or font more conducive to cutting with vinyl or another material.  This can prevent the lifting of these small lines during the cut process.  This videos shows you how to do this using a simple feature called "Outset", but I also show you how to adjust the Outset amount without having to actually change the settings in Inkscape!
